Track session fees, nightly dues, and yearly league fees — who can mark what paid, where the controls live, and how bulk actions work.
Digital Pool tracks three independent kinds of fees. A league can use any combination of them — none are required.
| Fee type | What it's for | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Session fee | A flat fee for the whole session (e.g. "$25/session") | Once per session |
| Nightly dues | A per-night fee (e.g. "$5/night") | Every night the team plays |
| League fee | An annual membership or sanction fee | Once per year |
Each is tracked separately — marking one paid has no effect on the others.
A one-time charge for the session. Operators set a default amount for the session (in Session Settings); every player in that session owes that amount unless their balance is marked paid or given a custom amount.
A per-night fee, assumed paid by default — you only ever record the nights where a player (or a team, as a whole) didn't pay. This keeps the common case (everyone pays every night) maintenance-free.
An annual membership or sanction fee, tracked per league. Operators set a league-wide default (in League Settings); a player's balance can be overridden individually.
League fee is Operator-only. Unlike session fee and nightly dues, Team Captains cannot mark the league fee paid or due — only Operators and SuperAdmins can, from the Player List, Player Details, or Team roster pages. This is because the league fee applies across the whole league, not to a single team, so it doesn't fit a Captain's team-scoped authority the way the other two fee types do.

A Captain only ever sees and manages dues for players currently rostered to a team they captain — never another team's roster, even within the same league.
Dues button on a match) — nightly dues and session fee, per player,
for both teams in that match. This is the fastest way to reconcile a night's payments
right after play. From the Team roster page, each fee type has its own "Mark all paid" and "Mark all due" buttons that apply to the whole roster in one click instead of updating players one at a time:
Bulk actions don't carry a note (a single freeform note applied identically to every player wasn't useful enough to add) — use the per-player toggle if you need to record a reason for one player's balance.
Session fee, nightly dues, and league fee balances can each carry an optional freeform note (for example, "paid in cash 3/2" or "waived — new member"). Click the note icon next to a balance to add or edit it; it's filled in blue when a note is already set. Editing a note never changes the amount, and vice versa.
Why can't I (a Captain) mark a player's league fee paid? League fee is Operator-only by design — it's a league-wide annual fee, not something tied to a specific team, so it doesn't fall under a Captain's (team-scoped) authority. Ask your league operator to update it.
A player is on more than one team this session — whose roster controls their session fee? Session fee and nightly dues aren't tied to a single team the way a roster spot is — any Captain who currently has that player on their roster can mark it paid/due. The balance itself is still just one shared value per player, not one per team.
What happens if I remove the default fee amount after some players already have a custom balance? Existing balances aren't changed. Removing a default only affects what happens the next time someone toggles a player to "Due" with no existing override — instead of applying the removed default, they will be prompted to enter a custom amount.
Is there a history of past payments? No — these are live balances, not a payment ledger. Nightly dues are the closest thing to a history, since there's one record per night; session fee and league fee are each a single current balance, not a log of every change.
Can a balance go negative? No — every fee amount must be zero or greater.
