Mark a team as BYE when it drops out mid-season so the schedule isn't left blocked, and reinstate it later if it returns.
Sometimes a team drops out partway through a season — a venue closes, a team can't field enough players, or they simply stop showing up. Withdraw Team marks the team as BYE and automatically converts its incomplete matches to BYE too, so the schedule doesn't sit blocked waiting on games that are never going to be played.
This is different from deleting a team: withdrawing keeps the team's history, stats, and past scored matches exactly as they are. It only affects matches that haven't been scored yet.
Withdrawing a team:
A BYE match doesn't count as a win or a loss for either side — it has no effect on standings or points, the same as any other bye round.
If a withdrawn team comes back, click Reinstate Team to reverse it:
One exception: a match won't be restored if the other team in that match is itself currently unavailable (for example, still withdrawn, or your league's designated BYE placeholder team used for Swiss scheduling) — that match was never going to be played regardless of this team's status, so it stays a BYE.

Withdrawing or reinstating a team is a season-structure change, not a routine roster edit — it's Operator and SuperAdmin only, the same tier as other league-level settings. Team Captains manage their roster but can't withdraw their own team.
Both surfaces show a confirmation dialog summarizing what will happen (including how many matches will be converted or restored) before you commit.
Does this affect the team's or players' stats? No. BYE matches are scoring-neutral, so withdrawing a team doesn't change anyone's win/loss record or points. Already-scored matches from before the withdrawal are untouched.
Is this the same as my league's Swiss "BYE team"? No. Some leagues have a dedicated placeholder team used to give a real team a bye when there's an odd number of teams in Swiss scheduling — that's a different, session-wide setting. Withdrawing a real team never touches that placeholder, and you can't withdraw or reinstate the placeholder team itself through this control.
Why does withdrawing convert old, never-scored matches too, not just future ones? A team that dropped out mid-season commonly has stale unscored matches sitting on the schedule from before it left. Sweeping those up as well means you don't have to hunt down and manually update every leftover match — just the ones still open.
Can I undo a withdrawal? Yes — click Reinstate Team. The one exception is a match whose other side is itself still unavailable (withdrawn, or the Swiss placeholder team); that one stays a BYE since it was never going to be played anyway.
Can I delete a team instead of withdrawing it? You can, but deleting removes the team entirely, including its history. Withdrawing is the better option whenever you want to keep the team's past record intact.
